OVERVIEW

Stoflight provides a range of training courses to support airline’s requirements for instructors and examiners. The Type Rating Instructor/Synthetic Flight Instructor (TRI/SFI) course is conducted using a mix of classroom and type-specific full flight simulators.

Our instructors are highly qualified and experienced airline pilots. We have one of the highest percentages of airline experience divided amongst our instructors. This is a key factor for ensuring that our programs are up to date, meeting standards and requirements in a changing aviation industry.

COURSE DETAILS

The course takes the candidate through the essential practical exercises of instruction required for type rating training. It is a demanding and testing exposure for the future instructor, to ensure training standards are maintained.

Stoflight can support the airline with the following instructor training courses:

  • Type Rating Instructor training
  • Part 1 – TRI teaching and learning course
  • Part 2 – technical training
  • Part 3 – flight instruction
  • TRI sim to TRI zero flight time (ZFT)/ LIFUS upgrade course / Landing training

Timeline

PRE-ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

In order to be eligible for the SFI/TRI course you need to fulfill all the requirements listed below:

Valid Medical Class 1 is required prior to starting your TRI training (not applicable for SFI). Medical Class 1 will be accepted from any EASA country. Do you need more information about obtaining an EASA Medical Class 1? Contact us.
Prior to starting the SFI training course, the applicant:

  • Shall have or have held a CPL license, or higher for the B737 aircraft
  • 1500 hours of flight time in multi-pilot operations in accordance with PART-FCL
  • Have completed, within the 12 months preceding the date of application, 3 route sectors in type type of aircraft used for this training (e.g., B737) either as pilot or as observer in the cockpit or 2 LOFT-based simulator sessions conducted by qualified flight crew on the flight deck of the applicable type. The LOFT-based simulator sessions shall include 2 flights of at least 2 hours each between 2 different aerodromes, and the associated pre- flight planning and de-briefing

Prior to starting the TRI training course, the applicant shall have:

  • Valid CPL license or higher, with Multi-Engine Instrument Rating.
  • 1500 hours of flight time in multi-pilot operations in accordance with PART-FCL
  • Have completed, within the 12 months preceding the date of application, 30 route sectors, including take-offs and landings, as PIC or co-pilot on the applicable aeroplane type, of which 15 sectors may be completed in an FFS representing that type (e.g., B737)
In order to issue an any EASA rating you will need to obtain a language proficiency level which follows the ICAO standard. The minimum level required to start your training is English level 4 (4 out of 6).

PRICING

All prices for this course are listed below and split into different packages in order to offer a flexible solution that suits your needs.

* Simulator Rental, Assessment of Competence and CAA examiner fee of 2650 EUR will be added.

The prices listed above are the only fees associated with your training, what you see is what you get, simple as that. We don’t have any hidden fees or extra costs that will be added during the course, you pay for your training as you get it.
